DEMS LAUNCH SEXIST AND RACIST AD CAMPAIGN AGAINST GOP CANDIDATE New Mailer Ad Attempts Scare Tactics Targeting Macheno-Smoak

ALEXANDRIA, VA – Prominent Virginia conservative leader and the Director of Coalitions for Citizens for the Republic (CFTR), Martha Boneta, this afternoon, denounced in the strongest terms the misogynic and racist print ad now being used by liberal Democrats against GOP state nominee Lolita Macheno-Smoak.

“If a Republican organization compared a female Ecuadorian candidate to an animal and a serial killer, they would be tarred and feathered by every media outlet in the country.  In the strongest, most sincere and heartfelt terms, I cannot state how shameful and wrong these ads really are,” said Ms. Boneta.

“Quite honestly, anyone who chooses not to denounce these ads are as complicit as the ones who approved and designed them.  Comparisons of a Latino woman to an animal and serial killer are beyond unacceptable in any environment.  An apology is totally insufficient.  We are far past that.”

“Sadly, we are once again reminded why women deserve better.  Yet the Democrats in Virginia continue to demonstrate they are willing to do and say anything to obtain power, even to the point of deleting their own lieutenant governor candidate from flyers being distributed in Northern Virginia. If this is how they behave on the campaign trail, why should anyone trust the Democrats with public office?” said Ms. Boneta.

“This incident goes far beyond the limitations of being Republican or Democrat. This is a direct attack on a woman’s dignity and character. Regardless of your party or affiliation, you should recognize the intended cruelty brought on Macheno-Smoak by this incredibly disparaging campaign.”

“Every and every individual who cares about a woman’s rights should condemn the horrific ad.”

Citizens for the Republic (www.CFTR.org) is a conservative grass roots organization dedicated to promoting the ideology and political philosophy of Ronald Reagan. Reagan established the original CFTR in 1977. In 2010, a group of Reagan stalwarts re-launched the organization. Its board includes Chairman Craig Shirley and Director Diana Banister.
