
Vote NO on Proposition 1A
- Prop 1A will raise taxes on Californians by $16 billion.
- Prop 1A will increase California’s already high state sales and use tax by another 1 percent.
- Prop 1A will nearly double the vehicle license fee.
- Prop 1A will increase the personal income tax rate, and reduces the value of the credit for having a child or dependent.
Vote NO on Proposition 1B
- Prop 1B will spend another $9.3 billion on California’s mismanaged schools at a time when California faces fiscal insolvency.
- Prop 1B is being promoted by public sector unions and their lobbyists at the expense of children, students, and taxpayers. The California Teachers Association alone, has spent more than $8.5 million promoting this initiative.
- Prop 1B allocates more public funds to the overly bloated and failing school system while ignoring other vital services and budget priorities.
Vote NO on Proposition 1C
- Prop 1C gambles with California’s future by allowing the California Lottery to borrow $5 billion by selling notes that would be repaid with future lottery revenue.
- Prop 1C dedicates billions of dollars to modernizing a lottery system that is among the worst nationally, allowing our public officials to play Russian Roulette with the California budget.
- Prop 1C is a hidden tax on the poor, and encourages reckless and wasteful behavior among our citizens — which leads to greater bankruptcy, homelessness, and crime.
Vote NO on Proposition 1D
- Prop 1D will transfer control of $1.6 billion away from local health and education programs for children, and give it to Sacramento politicians and bureaucrats.
- Prop 1D will defund First 5 programs in every county —programs responsible for children’s health care, quality preschools, protecting at-risk families and child safety — and divert nearly 70 percent of this funding to the general State Budget.
